The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has indeed substantiated the shifting of qualifying matches for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations that had been scheduled for September to March next year. The decision was made in order to help the continental teams have enough time to prepare for the World Cup in Qatar, CAF confirmed this on Sunday.
”CAF Executive Committee has revised TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’lvoire 2023 revised qualification calendar.”
The Executive committee was committed to making room for the African nations that have qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Consequently this means the 2022 September TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’lvoire match day three and match day four qualifiers has been moved to 20-28 March 2023.
“Matchday five will now be on 12-20 June 2023, while Match day six will be on 4-12 September 2023.”
